Pornic is in every way synonymous with the Atlantic Ocean! The town benefits from an exceptional setting and surroundings, and offers all the attractions of a tourist destination.
Less than 50 km from Nantes, Pornic makes a major contribution to the tourist and economic appeal of the Loire-Atlantique department and the Pays de Retz. First and foremost, the town is known for its surprising old port, protected by a ria (narrow, elongated bay). It is overlooked by a castle and opens onto the medieval town.
Pornic is therefore a highly cultural destination, which you can explore on foot or by bicycle. There, you’ll discover the narrow streets, the fishing huts, the museum of the Pays de Retz and even the megaliths.
If you’re on holiday at our Le Ranch campsite, the town is definitely worth a visit. Especially since you’ll be staying just 10 km from this beautiful maritime destination.
Fancy some salty sea air? Pornic is also an outstanding seaside destination. Whether you want to take a dip or enjoy the water-based activities, you’ll be spoilt for choice, with rocky inlets, coves of golden sand, vast stretches of beach… In fact, there are 12 beaches in all!
And take some time for a gourmet experience too. Sample the ice cream, craft beer, the famous Curé Nantais cheese or the Muscadet!
