A journey back in time
During your camping holiday in the Loire-Atlantique, you just may feel like taking a journey back in time and rediscovering the most glamorous events in Europe's history. And this is exactly what the Puy du Fou is intended for, with all of its shows and scenery. Located in the neighbouring Vendée department, this park will take you back to different eras and regions of the world:
- Ancient Rome with its circus games and gladiatorial combats
- The Middle Ages with the ghost birds ball (birds of prey, falcons etc.)

The Cinéscénie, an amazing show
The most spectacular of the shows at the Puy du Fou is the Cinéscénie. With around 2,550 people taking part, 23 hectares of scenery, 28,000 costumes and a multitude of fireworks, this big show is an hour and a half long and takes place at night, before the astounded eyes of 360,000 spectators.
From the Middle Ages to the Second World War, year after year the Cinéscénie retells its story and takes you back to some key moments in France's history.
